Exhibition Boosts The Development Of Wenling Footwear Industry

On the morning of October 26, the 7th China (Wenling) footwear, footwear materials and equipment exhibition opened in Wenling gymnasium. At present, there are more than 4000 shoe-making enterprises in Wenling City, with an output value of 17.2 billion yuan in 2006, becoming one of the largest injection molding shoe bases in China. The shoe industry has become one of the six pillar industries in Wenling City, accounting for nearly one fifth of the total industrial output value of Wenling City. In August this year, the China light industry handicraft import and Export Association awarded the city the honorary title of "China shoes export base". The annual Wenling footwear, footwear materials and equipment exhibition provides a good platform for the development of local shoe industry and technological transformation of shoe enterprises. It will further accelerate the pace of scientific and technological innovation of Wenling footwear industry, continuously enhance the international competitiveness of shoe industry development, and provide a better platform for further forced foreign cooperation and exchange of shoe industry. It is understood that in the first shoe exhibition in 2001, the output value of the shoe industry in Wenling was only 9.8 billion yuan, and it is expected to reach 20 billion yuan this year. Behind the rapid economic growth of the shoe industry, the shoe exhibition plays an important role. There were 280 footwear enterprises and 381 booths in this year's exhibition, which increased by more than 40% compared with the last one, and attracted more than 100 import and export companies from Fujian, Guangdong and Shanghai to visit and purchase.
